Psalm 27:5 "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His
pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set
me high upon a rock."
At the time this Psalm was written, the worshippers would go to the Temple
to worship God. They felt safe there in His pavilion. Pavilion comes
from papilio. It signifies a tent made of cloth stretched out on poles,
which in form resembles the butterfly. The very symbol of new life.
Let's be encouraged today knowing that we don't have to run into a church
or temple to be protected by God, but to simply call upon His Son's name,
Jesus. He will reach out, lift us up, and cover us under His wings!
