1 John 21:17 "And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."
This Scripture highlights the brevity of life. We want to be prepared for our eternal life by not getting caught-up in this one. If we love this world more than the Lord, then we will find all of our treasures passing away with this world. Why would we invest all of our resources in things that won't last?
Let's be encouraged today, to make our treasures heavenly ones. By doing this, the lusts of this world will fall away from us like scales. By building up treasures in heaven, and looking for that day where there will be no more sorrow, sickness or pain, we will endure. Why not enjoy every precious day while keeping our eyes on the glory ahead?
