1 Corinthians 13:3 "And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing."
Basically, no matter what we do that would seem good or sacrificial will not profit us or anyone else if we do not have love. Love does truly conquer all.
Haven't we at times given begrudgingly? Have we sacrificed something for another with resentment? If we have, then we did it to no avail.
A good encouragement for us would be to give with a cheerful heart and with love. By doing so we will not only bring forth happiness to the receiver, but great joy to our own hearts as well!
