1 John 2:1,2 "My little children, these things I write to
you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."
This address, "My little children," is of an affectionate father to
children whom he tenderly loves. John also felt as though he was the disciple's
spiritual father. His desire was to mentor them into holiness and
righteousness, as well as to magnify the Lord's gracious forgiveness to all of
His children.
Let's be encouraged today to know we have a Lord who stands for us and
defends us. Let's also strive to be righteous servants of the Most High!
